I. Purpose


To establish a standard guideline for Fire Police equipment for operations at emergencies scenes and other events


II. Definition

III. Policy


  1. It shall be the policy of the Kent County Chiefs Association and the Volunteer Fire/Rescue/EMS Companies of Kent County, Maryland to equipment their Fire Police in accordance with Kent County Chief’s Association S.O.G. 1-16.


IV. The Fire Police of Kent County, Maryland has been equipment with the following

minimum equipment.


  1. One traffic vest to comply with ANSI/ISEA 207, Standard for High-Visibility Public Safety Vests, and have a five-point breakaway feature that includes two at the shoulders, two at the sides, and one at the front.


  1. One ANSI Class 3 compliant Waterproof Parka with removable liner


  1. One ANSI Class 3 compliant Waterproof Pants


  1. Five fluorescent orange traffic cones


1. Suggested that they are not less than 28 inches in height

  1. One Red LED Light Baton with spare batteries


  1. One Flashlight with orange Safety Wand


1. Suggested to be rechargeable

2. If not rechargeable, with spare batteries


  1. One Red Emergency light with 360 view


  1. One Box of Flares


  1. One Reflective Warning Flag


  1. One Company or Kent County Fire Police Badge


  1. One Kent County Portable Radio


V. Suggested Optional Equipment


A. One Stop/Slow Sign


  1. One Pair of Hi-Reflective Gloves


  1. One Hi-Reflective knit hat


  1. One Hi-Reflective Ball Cap
