PURPOSE
To establish a standard officer numbering system for Companies and/or
Departments in Kent County.
POLICY
All Companies and/or Departments in Kent County shall adhere to the following guideline.
FIRE COMPANY AND/OR DEPARTMENT NUMBERING
1. CHIEF - To be numbered, Chief and Station Number.
A. Examples: Chief 2, Chief 3, etc.
DEPUTY CHIEF - To be numbered, Deputy Chief and Station Number, unless more than one Deputy Chief, than use Deputy Chief and Station Number-1.
Examples: Deputy Chief 4, Deputy Chief 4-1, etc.
ASSISTANT CHIEF - To be numbered, Assistant Chief and Station Number, unless more than one Assistant Chief, than use Assistant Chief and Station Number-1.
Examples: Assistant Chief 5, Assistant Chief 5-1, etc.
CAPTAIN - To be numbered, Captain and Station Number, unless more than one Captain, than use Captain and Station Number-1.
Examples; Captain 6, Captain 6-1, etc.
RESCUE CAPTAIN – To be numbered, Rescue Captain and Station Number, unless more than one Rescue Captain, than use Rescue Captain and Station Number -1.
Examples; Rescue Captain 7, Rescue Captain 7-1, etc.
TRUCK CAPTAIN – To be numbered, Truck Captain and Station Number, unless more than one Truck Captain, than use Truck Captain and Station Number -1.
Examples; Truck Captain 3, Truck Captain 3-1, etc.
BOAT CAPTAIN – To be numbered, Boat Captain and Station Number, unless more than one Boat Captain, than use Boat Captain and Station Number -1.
Examples; Boat Captain 8, Boat Captain 8-1, etc.
DIVE CAPTAIN – To be numbered, Dive Captain and Station Number, unless more than one Dive Captain, than use Dive Captain and Station Number -1.
A. Examples: Dive Captain 5, Captain 5-1, etc.
LIEUTENANT - To be numbered, Lieutenant and Station Number, unless more than one Lieutenant, than use Lieutenant and Station Number-1.
Examples; Lieutenant 2, Lieutenant 2-1, etc.
RESCUE LIEUTENANT – To be numbered, Rescue Lieutenant and Station Number, unless more than one Rescue Lieutenant, than use Rescue Lieutenant and Station Number -1.
Examples; Rescue Lieutenant 4, Rescue Lieutenant 4-1, etc.
TRUCK LIEUTENANT – To be numbered, Truck Lieutenant and Station Number, unless more than one Truck Lieutenant, than use Truck Lieutenant and Station Number -1.
Examples; Truck Lieutenant 6, Truck Lieutenant 6-1, etc.
BOAT LIEUTENANT – To be numbered, Boat Lieutenant and Station Number, unless more than one Boat Lieutenant, than use Boat Lieutenant and Station Number -1.
Examples; Boat Lieutenant 7, Boat Lieutenant 7-1, etc.
DIVE LIEUTENANT – To be numbered, Dive Lieutenant and Station Number, unless more than one Dive Lieutenant, than use Dive Lieutenant and Station Number -1.
Examples; Dive Lieutenant 8, Dive Lieutenant 8-1, etc.
SERGEANT - To be numbered, Sergeant and Station Number, unless more than one Sergeant, than use Sergeant and Station Number-1.
Examples; Sergeant 2, Sergeant 2-1, etc.
RESCUE SERGEANT – To be numbered, Rescue Sergeant and Station Number, unless more than one Rescue Sergeant, than use Rescue Sergeant and Station Number -1.
Examples; Rescue Sergeant 4, Rescue Sergeant 4-1, etc.
TRUCK SERGEANT – To be numbered, Truck Sergeant and Station Number, unless more than one Truck Sergeant, than use Truck Sergeant and Station Number -1.
Examples; Truck Sergeant 6, Truck Sergeant 6-1, etc.
BOAT SERGEANT – To be numbered, Boat Sergeant and Station Number, unless more than one Boat Sergeant, than use Boat Sergeant and Station Number -1.
Examples; Boat Sergeant 3, Boat Sergeant 3-1, etc.
DIVE SERGEANT – To be numbered, Dive Sergeant and Station Number, unless more than one Dive Sergeant , than use Dive Sergeant and Station Number -1.
Examples; Dive Sergeant 5, Dive Sergeant 5-1, etc.
CHIEF ENGINEER - To be numbered, Chief Engineer and Station Number.
Examples Chief Engineer 2, Chief Engineer 2-1, etc.
ASSISTANT CHIEF ENGINEER - To be numbered, Assistant Chief Engineer and Station Number, unless more than one Assistant Chief Engineer, than use Assistant Chief Engineer and the Station Number-1.
Examples; Assistant Chief Engineer 3, Assistant Chief Engine 3-1, etc.
SAFETY OFFICER - To be numbered, Safety Officer and Station Number, unless more than one Safety Officer, than use Safety Officer and Station Number-1.
Examples; Safety Officer 4, Safety Officer 4-1, etc.
FIRE POLICE CAPTAIN - To be numbered, Fire Police Captain and Station Number, unless more than one Fire Police Captain, than use Fire Police Captain and Station Number-1
Examples; Fire Police Captain 5, Fire Police Captain 5-1, etc.
FIRE POLICE LIEUTENANT – To be numbered, Fire Police Lieutenant and Station Number, unless more than one Fire Police Lieutenant, than use Fire Police Lieutenant and Station Number -1.
Examples; Fire Police Lieutenant 6, Fire Police Lieutenant 6-1, etc.
FIRE POLICE – To be numbered, Fire Police and Station Number, unless more than one Fire Police, than use Fire Police and Station Number -1.
Examples; Fire Police 7, Fire Police 7-1, etc.
IV. AMBULANCE, ALS (MICU), ALS (Chase Vehicle), MEDICAL
ASSIST COMPANY AND/OR DEPARTMENT OFFICER NUMBERING
1. EMS CHIEF - To be numbered, EMS Chief and Station Number.
A. Examples: EMS Chief 2, EMS Chief 3, etc.
DEPUTY EMS CHIEF - To be numbered, Deputy EMS and Station Number, unless more than one Deputy EMS Chief, than use Deputy EMS Chief and Station Number-1.
A. Examples: Deputy EMS Chief 4, Deputy EMS Chief 4-1, etc.
ASSISTANT EMS CHIEF - To be numbered, Assistant EMS Chief and Station Number, unless more than one Assistant EMS Chief, than use Assistant EMS Chief and Station Number-1.
Examples: Assistant EMS Chief 5, Assistant EMS Chief 5-1, etc.
EMS CAPTAIN - To be numbered, EMS Captain and Station Number,
unless more than one EMS Captain, than use EMS Captain and
Station Number-1.
Examples: EMS Captain 6, EMS Captain 6-1, etc.
EMS LIEUTENANT - To be numbered, EMS Lieutenant and Station
Number, unless more than one EMS Lieutenant, than use EMS
Lieutenant and Station Number-1.
Examples: EMS Lieutenant 7, EMS Lieutenant 7-1, Etc.
EMS SERGEANT - To be numbered, EMS Sergeant and Station
Number, unless more than one EMS Sergeant, than use EMS
Sergeant and Station Number-1.
Examples: EMS Sergeant 8, EMS Sergeant 8-1, Etc.
EMS CHIEF ENGINEER - To be numbered, EMS Chief Engineer and Station
Number.
A. Examples: EMS Chief Engineer 8, EMS Chief Engineer 2, etc.
ASSISTANT EMS CHIEF ENGINEER - To be numbered, Assistant EMS Chief Engineer and Station Number, unless more than one Assistant Chief Engineer, than use Assistant Chief Engineer and Station Number-1.
A. Examples: Assistant EMS Chief Engineer 2, Assistant EMS Chief
Engineer 2-1, etc.
EMS SAFETY OFFICER - To be numbered, EMS Safety Officer and Station
Number, unless more than one EMS Safety Officer, than use EMS Safety and
Station Number-1.
Examples: EMS Safety Officer 3, EMS Safety Officer 3-1, Etc.
VI. MONITOR NUMBERS
1. Each Company and/or Department member shall be issued a monitor
number.
2. EMS providers shall use their monitor number.
